The first edition of this work.

The 1930 yearbook of 'The Studio', an artistic work looking at the use of decorative arts within interior design.

'The Studio' was an influential magazine that focuses on fine and decorative arts, founded by Charles Holme in 1893.

The magazine had a large influence on the Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts movements. It promoted the new art of artists, designers, and architects, promoting the works of people like Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Charles Voysey.

Illustrated with six colour plates, and many monochrome plates throughout.

Collated, complete.

Bookplate of Herbert Samuel Mingard to the front pastedown.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Spine and head of the front board is a little faded. Minor marks to the boards and spine. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with some odd spots.
