An excellent example of this limited edition set, this copy being No. 1150 out of 1790 sets printed. The Ayot St. Lawrence edition, named after the town in Hertfordshire where Shaw resided.
Illustrated with a frontispiece to each volume.

Bound in the publisher's quarter cloth, with the original unclipped dust wrappers present to all volumes apart from XXVII. Externally, very smart, with light bumping to the extremities and the odd mark. Light tide marks to the spines of II, III, V, IV, XIII, XXV, XXII, XX, XXI, XI and XVII. Dust wrapper's are smart, with light edge wear and chipping to the extremities, heavier to the spines of XVI, XIV, XII, XXVI, XXIX, XVII and XX. Tide marks to the backstrips of wraps I, II, III, IV, V, XXV, XXII and XI. Light marks to wraps, including a red mark to XVI. Sunning to the wraps spines. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
