An illustrated alphabet, with letters including C for Cow, M for Medicine, O for Oyster and T for Trout.
Written by English novelist William Makepeace Thackeray (1811-1863). Most renowned for this work which satirises life in early 19th century Britain, Thackeray was primarily known for his satires and parodies, criticising high society and the fickle aspirations of its members, such as profitability, marriage and power.
Complete in an unclipped pictorial dust wrapper.
With charming illustrations for each letter by Thackeray.

Condition
In a quarter cloth binding, with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart, with just a little wear to the head and tail of the spine. Dust wrapper is a touch chipped to the head and tail, with some general wear and discolouration. Ownership inscription to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean bar the occasional mark.
