An interesting treatise by H. G. Wells, looking into the vast development of film in the first decades of the twentieth century.
Wells wrote this work at a time when the phenomena of cinema was exploding, exploring what made film so popular, and where Wells thought cinema would go in the future.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Cloth to the rear joint is a little cockled. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Only a few faint marks to the boards. Small chip to the head of the front endpaper. Minor edge wear to the dust wrapper, resulting in small closed tears to the joints, and a chip to the tail of the rear wrap. Dust wrapper is lightly age-toned, with spotting to the reverse. Faint damp stain to the reverse of the rear wrap and front fly leaf. One tape repair to the reverse of the dust wrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some spots, heavier to the first and last few pages.
