This work was written by the popular Charles Kingsley and features a collection of retellings from Greek Mythology, including stories of Perceus, The Argonaugts and Theseus. This work was intended for his children, with a dedication to them to the front of the book.

Condition
Bound in full crushed morocco with a cardboard slipcase. Endpapers renewed and original half title and blanks retained. Externally smart with fading to the spine, slight rubbing to the front board and shelf wear. Prize bookplate from 'Twyford School' to the front pastedown, with offsetting and spotting to the free endpapers. Internally generally firmly bound with clean and bright pages. The slipcase is generally smart with rubbing to the extremities, joints starting in places and slight fading to the extremities.
