The first edition of this very scarce pamphlet, illustrating the charming ritual of tea ceremonies in Japan. 

Issued by the Japan Tourist Bureau. 

The chanoyu, or tea ceremony, is one of the most sough-after tourist experience; the aesthetics of the ritual has attracted people to Japan for centuries. 

Based on contentedness and quietude, as well as on the principle of courtesy and decency, these ceremonies have played a great role in the history of Japanese culture, and the process is detailed in this charming short pamphlet. 

Embellished with illustrations in text. 

Condition

In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only and some faint minor handling marks to the wrappers. With some minor spotting internally to the wraps, not affecting the externals nor the leaves of text. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Illustrated in text with black and white lovely photographs.
