Born into one of the most distinguished and successful literary families in modern history, with Philippa Powys, John Cowper Powys and Llewelyn Powys as just a few of his talented literary siblings, A. R. Powys the Secretary of the 'Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings', and published a number of books on architectural subjects. Collated, complete with 22 photographic plates, and a number of monochromatic illustrations.
In publisher's original cloth binding. Lacking original dustwrapper. Externally, very smart with some shelfwear only. Bumped to the extremities and head and tail of spine. Small closed splits to tail of spine. Book is slightly cocked. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with a few scattered spots, heavier to the first and last few pages and the fore edge. Small pencil inscription to extremity of page 76, not affecting the text. Pencil sketch by prior owner to page 163, not affecting the text,
