Inspired by a voyage from South Africa to Australia, this adventure romance novel follows a young doctor who is eventually appointed as the Governor-General of the British colony of Oceania. But the journey is not straight forward and he finds himself on the desolate Marion Island. Written by Sir Henry Rider Haggard, an English writer of adventure fiction romances set in exotic locations and a pioneer of the lost world literary genre.

Condition

In the original grey cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout, with a small mark to the front endpaper only.
