A signed Limited Edition copy of this work, number thirteen of eight-hundred and seventy-five copies produced.

Signed by Keynes to the front free endpaper, with the inscription 'Cosmo Gordon, from Geoffrey Keynes, Sept. 1919'.

Gordon, the compiler of the 'Bibliography of Lucretius', was Keynes's earliest and oldest friend. After his death, Keynes wrote of Gordon 'Cosmo and I found our tastes and interests were always in harmony and I came to love his particular sense of humour and gentle goodness, as well as to respect his unusual style of scholarship'.

Geoffrey Keynes began his career as a First World War surgeon, before making notable innovations in the fields of blood transfusion and breast cancer surgery. He was also a publishing scholar and bibliographer of English literature and English medical history, focusing primarily on William Blake and William Harvey.
