A signed Limited Edition copy of this work, number thirteen of eight-hundred and seventy-five copies produced.
Signed by Keynes to the front free endpaper, with the inscription 'Cosmo Gordon, from Geoffrey Keynes, Sept. 1919'.
Gordon, the compiler of the 'Bibliography of Lucretius', was Keynes's earliest and oldest friend. After his death, Keynes wrote of Gordon 'Cosmo and I found our tastes and interests were always in harmony and I came to love his particular sense of humour and gentle goodness, as well as to respect his unusual style of scholarship'.
Geoffrey Keynes began his career as a First World War surgeon, before making notable innovations in the fields of blood transfusion and breast cancer surgery. He was also a publishing scholar and bibliographer of English literature and English medical history, focusing primarily on William Blake and William Harvey.
Illustrated with four plates, and with the scarce separately issued later errata bound in after the title page. The Nonesuch press issues the errata in 1931, complete with its own title page. Collated, complete

Francis Meynell designed the format and binding of the work so that it resembled the first editions of Jane Austen's novels in their original boards.
Condition
In the publisher's original paper covered boards, with unclipped dust wrapper. Bumping to spine tail, otherwise externally fine. Inscribed to front free endpaper. Dust wrapper significantly age toned to back strip, with losses to back strip head and tail, closed tear to fold of front joint, and small loss to head of rear wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. With the odd marginal ink notation throughout.
