What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding

The first edition.

In the publisher's original cloth binding.

'Dudley and Gilderoy', though on the surface seems to be a children's story about a parrot and a cat, incorporates heavy philosophies and an underlying critique on 1920s society.

Known for his weird tales and ghost stories, Algernon Blackwood's works were often noted for their strange genre fusions such as this one.

With charming in-text illustrations.

This story was later abridged and adapted as a children’s book by Marion Cothren in 1941.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. With rubbing to the extremities, most notably to the spine head and tail. Front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the occasional spot.
