First appearing in Italy in 1608, Compendium Maleficarum is a manual for witch hunters, originally written in Latin. It was held as an authoritative work on the subject in contemporary times. This English translation appeared for the first time over three centuries since the work's publication, in 1929.

Covering such subjects as witches' pacts with the devil, their powers and poisons and classification of demons.

Written by Italian priest Francesco Maria Guazzo, best known for this work. He was highly regarded due to his first-hand experience of witchcraft, and performed numerous exorcisms.

Edited and with notes by Montague Summers, an English author whose interests lay in witchcraft and demonology.

Illustrated with woodcuts throughout the text.

A limited edition, with only 1275 produced, of which this is No. 390. Many leaves throughout are unopened.
