Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

Comprising of:

Horsemanship, The Way of a Man with a Horse, A Practical Book on Horsemanship, published in 1929. Including contributions from Brigadier Geoffrey Brooke, Colonel Todd, and Lieutenant-Colonel Arthur Brooke. 

Flat Racing, published in 1940. Including contributions from The Earl of Harewood, Lt-Col P.E. Ricketts, A.W. Caoten, C.C. Edmunds, F. Fox, and more. 

Both of these works come from the Lonsdale Library of Sports, Games, & Pastimes, edited by The Earl of Lonsdale and Eric Parker. 

Volume I includes 34 black-and-white plates, collated and complete. Also including numerous in-text illustrations. 

Volume II includes 95 black-and-white plates, collated and complete. 

Containing an ink inscription of a previous owner to the front free-endpaper.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, a few stains to the extremities, and some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Previous owner's ink signature to the front free-endpaper of 'Horsemanship', and a previous bookseller's small sticker to the front pastedown of 'Horsemanship'. Internally, both volumes firmly bound. Some light spotting to the pastedowns and free-endpapers, as well as to the fore-edge, affecting the odd page. Otherwise pages are generally bright and clean.
