C. F. Snowden Gamble's account of the activities of the workers of Great Yarmouth air station between 1914 and 1918, motivated, explains Gamble, 'in view of the fact that these played a considerable part in combating the menace of the Zeppelin airship, as well as disputing the efforts of the Imperial German Naval Air Service to establish an aerial supremacy over the North Sea'.

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped original dust wrapper. Slight fading to board perimeters, with bumping to head and tail of back strip. Pencil notations to front endpaper. Offsetting to half title. Losses to head and tail of dust wrapper back strip, with edgewear and small closed tears to head of wrapper. Some marks to rear wrap and back strip. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with the odd pencil marking.
