This religious poetic work by John Henry Newman contains 'The Dream of Gerontius', arranged with concordance and chronicle. This work was a 'Contribution towards the Centenary of the Oxford Movement', as Cardinal Newman was originally an evangelical academic at the University of Oxford.

This poem was originally written in 1865 and consists of the prayer of a dying man, and the responses that he receives from an angel and a demon. The poem was written soon after Newman converted from Anglicanism to Catholicism.

John Henry Newman (1801-1890) was an English theologian, scholar, and poet. He was one of the most important figures within the religious history of England in the 19th century.
