An extensive account of the history of the Coldstream Regiment of Foot Guards during the First World War from 1914-18. Compiled by Sir John Ross-of-Bladensburg. The Regiment is the oldest continuously serving regiment in the British Army, the principal role being protecting the monarchy. The present collection tells of the history of the Regiment and the role it played during WW1, including details on the beginning of the war, and of the battles of Marne, Aisne, Ypres, Somme, Cambrai, and numerous others. 

Complete in three volumes, the third volume comprising twenty-seven folding maps. Collated, complete, with the maps in lovely condition. Illustrated with a frontispiece to vol. I.

Condition

In the original publisher's full cloth binding with decorations in gilt and silver to the front board. Externally smart with some shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, with a minor cracking to the cloth to the rear joint of vol. I, which is also slightly marked tot he rear board. Internally, firmly bound. A minor faint spotting to the fore edge, affecting only the odd leaf slightly, otherwise the pages are bright and clean. Comprising twenty-seven folding maps. Collated, complete, with the maps in lovely conditions. Illustrated with a frontispiece to vol. I.
