Meyer's Lexikon was a German encyclopaedia which first appeared in 1839.
This is the seventh edition, complete in twelve volumes; this was smaller than previous editions as a result of the economic depression in Germany during the 1920s.
Illustrated with around five thousand in-text illustrations, over one thousand plates and maps. This includes plates in colour, folding plates and maps in colour. Collated, complete.
In the German language.
Complete in twelve volumes. Three supplementary volumes were released later.
An excellent collection of the seventh edition of this important German encyclopaedia, the final edition completed before the Second World War and Nazification.
Condition
In a half calf binding. Externally generally smart, with just slight wear to the leather spines of most volumes and some bumping to the extremities. Volumes 3 and 4 have more rubbing to the head of the spine, with volume 4 having some slight rubbing to the tail as well. Volumes 7,8, and 9 are a little more faded than the other volumes. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
