Description

An Important Work, First Edition

The first edition of this work in the publisher's original paper wraps.

Commonly called the Yellow Book, this important work is the report of the British Liberal Party's Industrial Inquiry of 1928. It is divided into five sections: "The Condition of British Industry"; "The Organisation of Business"; "Industrial Relations"; "National Development"; "National Finance".

David Lloyd George, Leader of the Liberal Party from 1926, instigated an enquiry on Britain's economy during the post-war depression. Members of the Liberal Industrial Inquiry included Lloyd George, Ernest Simon, John Maynard Keynes, Seebohm Rowntree, Philip Kerr, and Charles Masterman, among others. Their research and debate led to this report, published on 2nd February 1928. It has since been used as a textbook in universities.
