First edition. In presentation to Sir William Joynson-Hicks, an English solicitor and Conservative Party politician, best known as a long-serving and controversial Home Secretary in Stanley Baldwin's Second Government from 1924 to 1929. With an inscription from the author dated 11th June 1928. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, three colour plates, and fifty-six black-and-white plates. A detailed and comprehensive work on naval aviation with chapters on military aviation, aircrafts, airships, accidents, the evolution of the tank from the armoured car, the Royal Air Force, air policies, and more. Written by Rear-Admiral Sir Murray Fraser Sueter, a British Royal Naval officer who was noted as a pioneer of naval aviation and later became a Member of Parliament. Illustrated by Sir William Russell Flint, a Scottish artist and illustrator, and Wing-Commander E. G. O. Beuttler.

Condition

In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Author's ink inscription to the front endpaper.
