A set complete in four volumes comprising a thorough history of printing in the original French language. With numerous illustrations and plates. Each volume concerning different aspects: the history and technique, the printing of letters, the aesthetic of a book, and the trinkets and bilboquets used for printing.

Condition

In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally sound with slight cracking to spine. Rear wrap to volume two and four as well as front wrap to volume three detached due to the delicate nature of the binding, but present. Tear to front wrap on the attachment to spine; may eventually detach with further handling. Slight shelfwear and chipping. Internally, binding is loose but firm. Pages are bright and clean. With one-thousand-and-sixty-nine plates and illustrations.
