Description

Fine Binding, Illustrated

Volume XVII contains Rabelais, Auguste Comte, and Pierre Laffitte. Volume XXIV contains Pages d'Histoire et de Litterature I. Several pages are unopened throughout both volumes. Anatole France, 1844 – 1924, born Francois-Anatole Thibault, was a French poet, journalist, and novelist. He was a successful novelist, with several best-sellers. Ironic and sceptical, he was considered in his day the ideal French man of letters. He was a member of the Academie francaise, and won the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Condition

Uniformly bound in half leather and marbled paper-covered boards, with gilt lettering and spine decoration. There is slight wear to the extremities, including slight rubbing. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are clean and bright, with slight browning to the first few pages.
