The sixteenth edition of this title, as called for.

Illustrated throughout by E H Shepard, a popular twentieth century illustrator whose pen and ink drawings were featured in all of Milne's works.

This work include forty-four poems, including 'Teddy Bear' which, upon its initial publication in 'Punch' magazine, was the first literary appearance of Winnie-The-Pooh. 

With the inscription of C. J. Halliwell to the head of the front free endpaper.

Condition

In the publisher's original full calf binding, with gilt detailing. Boards exceptionally bright. Significant rubbing to back strip, with small loss of leather to back strip head an tail. A number of small closed tear to back strip, with small losses of leather in this region. Inscription to front free endpaper head. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally bright, with instances of light handling marks to fore edges of leaves. Lacking original ribbon bookmark.
