With over 700 vignette and full plate illustrations selected by Lucien Rudaux, the French artist and astronomer who created paintings of space in the 1920s and 1930s. Including nine colour plates and eight colour maps. Collated, complete.

In the publisher's original quarter morocco binding, with paper covered boards, and gilt detailing. Externally, smart. Head of front joint starting, with board holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with instances of spotting throughout. Spotting most concentrated to plate perimeters.
