What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Folding Maps, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

The extremely scarce London first edition, in a very smart condition. Illustrated throughout, with photographs of the expedition, taken mostly on a Kodak camera. With a frontispiece and thirty-three plates, including a large folding map to the rear which is in a pristine condition. Prior owner's inscription to the recto of front endpaper, 'From Fred A Donaldson' dated 02/05/27. With an introduction by Worsley's joint leader, Grettir Algarsson. A fascinating, first-hand account of this voyage.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with bumping to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. The odd spot to the front board. Prior owner's inscription to the recto of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with just the odd spot.
