What Our Customers Say...
An Important Work, Early Edition, Publishers' Original Binding
The ninth printing of this work by Shakespeare and Company in Paris.
In a large format. Rebound, as is very common with this particular edition. In a quarter cloth binding with patterned hand-printed paper to the boards.
Ulysses is an incredibly influential novel, and is a major work in the modernist canon. First serialized in the American journal 'The Little Review' before being published in its entirety by Sylvia Beach in Paris. A parallel of Homer's epic 'The Odyssey', Joyce's novel is set in 20th century Ireland and explores the relationship of the country's relationship with Britain. A beloved work by many, T.S Eliot referred to 'Ulysses' as being 'a book to which we are all indebted, and from which none of us can escape'.
A very early printing of this important work in the modernist canon.
In full quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally, very smart with minor rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned, as is common with this work. Just the odd spot.
