With Apes and Man, the first edition of 1927. A thorough study looking at the the origins of man and its evolution to the early types of man. 

Hunters and Artists, the first edition of 1927. Exploring history from the end of the Ice Age to the later Palaeolithic Invaders of Europe, including early typed of modern man, and the life and thought of the time.

Each volume includes and index and a chronological summary to the rear, as well as numerous illustrations.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and a slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. The cloth to the spine of 'Priests and Kings' has slightly darkened. Most volumes, being II, III, IV, V, VI, and VIII, present some minor damp marking to either the front or rear board, as well as the occasional minor handling mark. Internally, firmly bound. Volume VI and VII are inscribed by H C Bowen to the title page. With the occasional minor scattered spotting to the first and last few leaves particularly; otherwise, the pages are generally very bright and clean. Each volume is illustrated with numerous illustrations in text throughout.
