First edition. With the vanishingly scarce original unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with a frontispiece and twenty-five full-page images. Collated complete. A detailed and comprehensive historical study of the River Avon as it passes through Bristol. With chapters on each individual city, town, and village that the river passes including: Tetbury, Malmesbury, Chippenham, Bradford-on-Avon, Bath, and Bristol. Written by Ernest Walls, an English geographer. Illustrated by Reginald Edgar James Bush, a Welsh artist, painter, draughtsman, printmaker and teacher noted for his pen and ink work.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear to the extremities only. Original unclipped dust wrapper is sound with light wear and minor chipping to the extremities. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine with small closed tears to the panel edges. Light sunning to the spine and panel edges. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting predominantly to the first and last few pages.
