First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Uncommon

The first edition of History of the Duke of Wellington's Regiment (1st and 2nd Battalions) 1881-1923 by C. D. Bruce in the original publisher's red and cream cloth binding. 

Illustrated with thirty two monochrome plates and eighteen maps. Collated, complete. Includes a frontispiece with a facsimile of Wellington's signature. 

Contents includes an outline of the Battalions, 'The Battle of Mons' and 'From the Aisne to Bethune'. 

With gilt to the front board and spine.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, resulting in some wear to the cloth. The gilt writing to the spine is slightly faded. The hinges are slightly strained. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot.
