Illustrated with sixty four monochrome plates from photographs by T. A. Glover, and a colour folding map to the rear. Collated, complete.
Stella Court Treatt was a South African adventurer and filmmaker. With her first husband, Chaplin Court Treatt, the pair undertook the Court Treatt Expedition 1924-1926, in which they completed the first successful attempt to drive a motor car from Cape Town to Cairo. This is the travel journal documenting this journey.

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, sound. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There are some light marks to the boards and heavy marks to the spine. There is some spotting to the fore edge. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper dated 1927. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with some spotting throughout, particularly to the first few pages.
