First edition. Very scarce work. Illustrated with sixteen plates and two folding maps. Collated complete. A detailed ethnological and anthropological study of the Ancient Near East, with chapters on geography as well as the Mediterraneans, Alpines, Nordics, Finno-Ugrians, Hamites, and Semites. Written by William Hoyt Worrell, an American Professor of Near Eastern Studies at the University of Michigan, specializing in Semitic studies.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd handling mark and minor age toning to the endpapers. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown.
