What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

The vanishingly scarce first and only separate edition of Haggard's exposition of his syncretistic personal religious beliefs.

This work originally appeared as a chapter in Haggard's posthumously published autobiography 'The Days of My Life', published  in 1926.

In Ronald Hutton's popular work of religious history 'The Triumph of the Moon', he explained that "Haggard had absorbed from theosophy two doctrines firmly rejected by orthodox Christianity: reincarnation and the law of karma [...] this was accompanied by a sense that the Christian Trinity was only the apex of a hierarchy of divinities which included ancient pagan deities".

Retaining the original half title.

An excellent example of this very scarce work.

Condition

In the publisher's original paper wraps. Minor bump to back strip head, otherwise externally excellent. Minor spotting to text block fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
