An early edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the scarce original unclipped dust wrapper.
Michael Arlen (1895-1956) was a novelist, playwright, scriptwriter, as well as 1920s society figure with a luxurious lifestyle. He is now remembered for his best-selling novel The Green Hat.
This work, first published in 1923, was his second collection of short stories. It includes fifteen stories, including 'The Ancient Sin', 'Salute the Cavalier', and 'The Loquacious Lady of Lansdowne Passage'.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth remains bright and smart. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the fore edge, not affecting the pages. Dust wrapper is generally bright with a scattering of faint marks, and chipping to the upper extremities of the front and rear of the wrap. Small loss to the lower corner of the front of the wrap.
