A complete twelve volume set of the works of Henry Fielding.

Fielding is one of the most influential English authors, standing alongside Samuel Richardson as one of the founders of the traditional English novel.

Illustrated with a frontispiece and an engraved title page to each volume.

Containing;

'The History of Tom Jones', complete in six volumes. 'Tom Jones' is Fielding's best known work, a Bildungsroman and a picaresque novel. 

'The Adventures of Joseph Andrews' complete in two volumes. 'Joseph Andrews' is a was described by Fielding as being a comic epic poem in prose.

'Amelia', complete in three volumes. 'Amelia# is a sentimental novel, the final novel Fielding wrote.

'The Life of Mr Jonathan Wild', complete in one volume. 'Jonathan Wild' is a satirical novel of the London underworld.

Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the University of Oxford Libraries.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. A little bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Some minor marks to the boards and spines. Minor fading to the boards. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
