What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Uncommon

A first edition of this uncommon work in the publisher's original cloth binding. Ink inscription to the half title page. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and 6 black and white plates by children's illustrator Honor Appleton (1879-1951). A charming children's story by Christine Chaundler (1887-1972), who wrote hundreds of short stories for magazines and children's annuals, some of which were broadcast by the BBC. Now an uncommon work. Undated, dated through the author's other books advertised to the verso of the half title page, and through copies held at the University of Oxford Libraries.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally smart, though faded to the spine with light shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally clean, though there is some offsetting to the end papers and small tea stains to the bottom of pages 242 and 243.
