A revised edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding. Illustrated with 11 plates and numerous illustrations accompanying the text. Collated complete. Sir Ernest Alfred Wallis Budge (1857-1934) was an English Egyptologist, Orientalist, and philologist who worked for the British Museum and published numerous works on the ancient Near East. Budge introduces this work with a historical outline of the Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms, and the principal kings of Egypt, before exploring various aspects of the lives of the ancient Egyptians. He gives insights into Egyptian homes, schools and temples, the family, the pharaoh, work and leisure, literature, religion and religious customs.

Condition

In publisher's original cloth binding. Externally smart, with some fading to the spine, marks to the boards and light wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean except for the odd spot, more so to the first and last few pages.
