First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding

In publisher's original binding, with an illustration of the titular character from Lionel Edwards, a British artist who specialised in images of country life. Subtitled, 'A Story from the Old Stag', this story was published as a Christmas promotional for the publisher in 1926, and has not since appeared outside of anthologies. Featuring four pages of publisher's advertisements at the rear.

Condition

In publisher's original paper wraps. Tidemarks to the perimeter of the front board, and some shelfwear to extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Generally clean, with some spotting to the perimeter of pages, not affecting the text. Pages are bright
