Nicknamed 'The First Lady of Radio', Mary Margaret McBride hosted radio shows for over four decades, and was a popular figure of American entertainment. As well as music, her works often covered housewifery and related things for her millions of listeners.

Written with Paul Whiteman, nicknamed 'The King of Jazz', an American bandleader and musician popular in the 1920s and 1930s. He performed the debut of Gershwin's 'Rhapsody in Blue', as well as recording songs including 'Mississippi Suite', 'Grand Canyon Suite', 'Wang Wang Blues' and 'Hot Lips'.

Illustrated with photographs throughout.

Complete with the bright and unclipped original dust wrapper.

Condition

In the publisher's original full cloth binding with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally rather worn; boards are a little grubby, with tidemarks and wear to the extremities. Joints are also a touch worn. Dust wrapper is a touch sunned to the spine, with some wear to the extremities and slight loss to the head and tail of the spine. Presentation inscription to the front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
