With scarce original, unclipped dust wrapper.
This work is an adventure novel written by the prolific English author H. Rider Haggard. First printed in 1899 by Longmans. The narrative is set in the Ptolemaic era of Ancient Egyptian history, mixing historical action with supernatural events, this is an excellent example of Haggard's historical fantasy.
Sir Henry Rider Haggard (1856-1925) was an English author who specialised in adventure fiction set in exotic locations, primarily Africa. He was a pioneer of the lost world literary genre.
Condition
In the publisher's original dust wrapper and cloth binding. Externally, very smart and bright. Very minor rubbing to tail of spine. The odd small mark to boards. Offsetting to end papers. Ink inscription to front free end paper. The dustwrapper is smart. Chipping to extremities, and small areas of loss to head and tail of spine. The odd closed tear. Toned due to handling. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally clean and bright, especially to top fore edge.
