1926 Borders and Ornaments
What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Very Scarce
The first UK edition of this very scarce work in the publisher's original paper wraps. A typography catalogue profusely illustrated with a variety of examples of borders and ornaments for publications, cast on the Didot Point System. These borders and ornaments were designed by Emil Rudolf Weiß (1875-1942), a German painter, typographer and poet. He created numerous fonts, including: Weiß-Fraktur (1913), Weiß-Antiqua (1928, designed for the Bauer Type Foundry), Weiß-Gotisch (1936) and Weiß-Rundgotisch (1937). However, only a few of them are still in use.
Condition
