Herman Melville was an American novelist and short story writer during the American Renaissance. His magnum opus, 'Moby Dick', is considered one of the great American novels. His other works included travel adventures and romance adventures, and well as poetry and short fiction for magazines.

Illustrated in colour by Edward McKnight Kauffer, an American artist and graphic designer best known for the poster designs he completed for the London Underground, Great Western Railway and American Airlines.

Published by the Nonesuch Press, a private press founded in 1922 which used a small hand press to design books.

A limited edition, this being No. 401 of 1650 copies.

A lovely edition of this exciting novella.

Condition

In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally, with some marks to the boards and a touch of edge wear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
