What Our Customers Say...
Publishers' Original Binding
The first Foulsham abridged edition. The novel was first published by Rider and Son in 1911, to very bad reviews. This 1925 edition is a highly abridged and rewritten version, shortened by 100 pages, and with 28 chapters rather than the original 40.
'The Lair of the White Worm' is a horror novel based on the County Durham legend of the Lambton Worm. It's generally considered to be one of the worst books ever written.
The novel was later loosely adapted into a film in 1988 starring Hugh Grant and Peter Capaldi.
