Illustrated with the designs for costumes and scenery used in the production at the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith and other drawings by George Sheringham. Altogether comprising of a frontispiece, illustrated title page and twenty-three plates. Collated complete. With an introduction by Nigel Playfair. Richard Brinsley Sheridan's famous three-act comic opera. At the time it was considered one of the most successful operas ever staged in England.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear to the edges and some handling marks to the boards. Hinges slightly strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean with some light age-toning to the edges.
