What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce, With Dustwrapper

The first edition of this fascinating early twentieth-century study of Swedish architecture and Nordic Classicism, an area of architecture that the author laments has been overshadowed and unrecognised when compared to architecture of Southern Europe and America.

This work filled a gap in the architectural field, as prior to this no book on contemporary Swedish architecture had been published in England.

In the very scarce publisher's original dust wrapper, price unclipped.

Illustrated with one-hundred and fifty-two plates and plans. Collated, complete.

Written by Swedish architect and author, Hakon Ahlberg, and containing a preface by photographer Francis Yerbury.

Including contributions from Isak Gustaf Clason, Ragnar Ostberg, Carl Westman, Erik Lallerstedt, Erik Hahr, Ferdinand Boberg, Lars I. Wahlman, Torben Grut, Ernst Torulf, Sigfrid Ericson, Arvid Bjerke, Ivar Justus Tengbom, Carl Bergsten, Cyrillus Johansson, Origo, Ares, Gunnar Aslplund, Sigurd Lewerentz, Oswald Almqvist, Ragnar Hjorth, Ture Ryberg, Hakon Ahlberg, and Sven Wallander.
