What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

An unusual work, consisting of a book of photographic plates - many of which are in colour - of decorative confectionaries, a recipe book, and a portfolio containing stencils and tracing patterns. These three volumes are housed in the publisher's box containing also the very scarce sieve, brush, and tin of chocolate powder.

With numerous colour plates of confectionary delights and an accompanying work containing the recipes for these, alongside forty-four decorative stencils for use alongside the tools provided.

The work of German confectioner Adolf Heckmann.

Condition

In the publisher's original full cloth binding, with supplementary recipe book in paper wraps, and folder containing stencils in a quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Spotting to boards of both volumes. Housed in a box containing also a brush, tin and sieve. Splits to box joints, with rubbing and bumping to extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. Stencils age toned, with some handling marks.
