An interesting sporting history of Malton by Major John Fairfax-Blakeborough (1883-1976), a prolific writer on horse-racing as well as a racing judge at Sedgefield. This history begins with the early sporting associations of Malton until 1861, and continues with anecdotes of famous jockeys, horses and races.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with light shelf wear to the extremities, and two small closed tears to the head of the spine. Small marks to the front board. Gilt remains bright. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the first couple of pages, and a small tidemark to the gutter of the first few pages and to the tail of the last few pages. Crease to the top corner of page 53.
