The second German edition, seldomly found in the UK. Containing a fascinating account of the series of battles fought on the Holy Land during World War One.

This work is part of a series 'Schachten des Weltkrieges' (Battles of the World War) and was edited by Dr Steuber, physician and Army Doctor in Palestine in 1917-8. 

Steuber compiled this work from the German army's diary entries and official resources from the Reich's archives, which give a vivid and raw account of the conditions under which German troops fought, and what they experienced and achieved. 

Written in black letter font. 

Illustrated with fifteen leaves of plates of photographs in black and white, and complete with two maps and charts printed on both sides of two sheets inserted to a slip to the rear of the volume.

Condition

In the original publisher's half cloth binding over paper covered boards. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. With a minor faint sunning to the edges of the boards. internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with fifteen leaves of plates of photographs in black and white, and complete with a map and a chart inserted to a slip to the rear of the volume.
