First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

First edition. In the publisher's original cloth binding. An autobiographical work by the Major General, Sir Desmond O'Callaghan. This work offers an insight into the officers extensive military career, and his subsequent travel across the world to paces such as Canada, Bulgaria and South Africa among others. With a portrait of the author to the frontispiece, taken by Eliot and Fry, followed by 7 additional plates. The majority plates are images that depict the author in numerous theatrical performance. Collated complete.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally bumped to the head and tail of the spine, with light fraying. Large crack to the front joint, with the backstrip lifting. The odd handling mark to the front and rear boards. The rear hinge is strained, with heavy rubbing to the rear endpaper. Internally firmly bound. Pages are clean with the odd mark.
