Written by English author Henry Rider Haggard, who was a pioneer in the world of adventure fiction and romance, being a key author in the lost world genre. 'Allan Quatermain' was written as a sequel to 'King Solomon's Mines', telling the story of English hunter Allan Quatermain, who appears in a number of Haggard's novels. This particular novel follows Quatermain's discovery of enormous wealth and his return to Africa in attempt to come to terms with the death of his son, Harry.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally excellent with light shelf wear and minimal marks to the boards. Prize bookplate from 'Greenleaf Road Baptist Sunday School' to the front pastedown, with light offsetting to the free endpapers. The wrap is smart with closed tears to the extremities, light chipping and creasing, sunning to the spine and handling marks. Internally firmly bound with generally bright pages and occasional light spotting. Spotting to the fore edge. Spotting to the fore edge.
