What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Original Binding

Illustrated throughout, and featuring a map of London. With 16 colour plates by English artist Nelson Dawson. Collated, complete.

E. V. Lewis, an English humourist, essayist and poet, gives the reader a tour of London, with a particular emphasis on its galleries and art.

The twenty-fifth edition of this work, originally published in 1906. E.V. Lucas' description of London was revised in 1923 by the author to reflect post-war additions and changes. Therefore the work provides a tour of London as life revived following the First World War, but before the destruction brought by the Second World War.

Former owner's inscription to front free endpaper, 'D. L. Cumming'.
