First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Signed

A first edition copy. 

Signed by the author and dated 17th July 1925. With a previous owner inscription for John H. Harvey who was an English architectural historian, specialising in English Gothic Architecture. 

This volume is built from a series of lectures given to architectural students at UCL in 1922 and explores the history of architecture and building construction, specifically looking at brickwork, masonry, concrete and joinery. 

With illustrations throughout the text by the author.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some light fading to the spine and bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Signed by the author to the front free endpaper and signed by John Harvey to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
