    Number two-hundred and seventy of two-hundred and seventy-five numbered and signed copies produced, signed by Phillpotts to the colophon.

    An engaging comedy by the Indian-born author, poet and dramatist, on the subject of the life of Empress Eudocia, the wife of Theodosius II.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original quarter paper vellum binding, with paper covered boards, and unclipped dust wrapper. Small mark to back strip, with a touch of discolouration to spine label, otherwise externally excellent. Dust wrapper age toned to back strip and perimeters of front wrap, with edgewear to back strip head and tail. Internally, firmly bound. Title page unopened to head. Pages clean and bright.
